Located on the beautiful University of Texas at Austin campus, the school of architecture offers students the opportunity to earn either a Bachelor of Architecture or Bachelor of Architectural Design degree. Students major in specialties, including architecture, landscape architecture, community and regional planning, interior design, urban design, sustainable design or historical preservation. UT also offers graduate degrees in architecture. Admission to the UT School of Architecture is highly competitive; applications are individually reviewed based on SAT or ACT scores, high-school class rank, essays, extracurricular activities and the rigor of the student's course load while in high school. The University of Texas is a state university, but it is academically competitive. A majority of its students come from within the state of Texas and have graduated in the top 8 percent.
Rice University School of Architecture is located in the heart of Houston, Texas. Students will earn either a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Architecture or a Bachelor of Architectural Studies degree. Students must complete a two-year pre-architectural studies sequence before being accepted into the School of Architecture. Upon acceptance into the School of Architecture, students enter into a preceptorship which involves a year of professional experience followed by a year of academic studies. Rice University School of Architecture also offers graduate degrees in architecture, including the opportunity for students to study abroad at their satellite university in Paris, France.
Located in San Luis Obispo, California Polytechnic State University College of Architecture and Environmental Design offers students a Bachelor of Architecture degree. The school provides students with the opportunity for cross-disciplinary studies specific to landscape architecture, city and regional planning, construction management and architectural engineering. Students will also graduate with a minor that reflects those cross-disciplinary studies, such as property development, sustainable environments, integrated project delivery and architectural engineering. The College of Architecture and Environmental Design also provides students with the opportunity to work in a co-op where they earn money while gaining professional experience. Graduate degree programs are also available.
Located in Charlottesville, the University of Virginia School of Architecture offers academic studies in four disciplines of architecture including architecture, architectural history, landscape architecture and urban and environmental planning. As one of the oldest architecture schools in the United States, the school has a solid background and history that can be traced back to Thomas Jefferson. Students have the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Architectural History, a Bachelor of Science in Architecture or a Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning degree. Graduate level programs are also available. The school is highly competitive with most students transferring into the school during their sophomore year.

Graduate-level degree programs are also available. Boston Architecture College is an independent college specifically focused on the study of architecture. With its early beginnings as an architectural club, the college began in 1880 and has since educated thousands of architects. Since this is an independent college entity, along with its outstanding degree and academic programs, the college offers a wide range of continuing education opportunities for architecture professionals.
