The University of Central Florida is a large and prominent university within both the state of Florida and the country. UCF offers 216 different degree programs ranging from engineering and business to digital media. Located on 1,415 acres in Orlando, UCF's main campus holds 12 colleges, 56,000 students, and 600 acres of forests and lakes. The university has 10 other campuses within Central Florida as well. UCF accepts undergrad and graduate students, transfer students and draws students from all 50 states and over 140 countries, creating a diverse campus.
Founded in 1885, Rollins College is located in Orange County's Winter Park, a suburb of Orlando. This liberal arts college is consistenly ranked as one of the country's best by national publications, including being named the No. 1 regional university in the South by U.S. News & World Report's 2010 edition of "America's Best Colleges." With a full-time student body of over 2,500, students at Rollins can enter into undergraduate and graduate studies and participate in a number of study abroad programs.
Valencia Community College has two campus locations, one in Orlando and the other in Osceola County. This college offers students two-year associate degrees in a number of fields ranging from social sciences to engineering. Valencia prides itself on preparing students to enter the work force after graduation or to transfer into a four-year university for further education. The Osceola campus opened in 1997, and with its sister schools provides higher education to over 50,000 students.
Florida Christian College is a four-year university that offers Bachelors of Arts, Science and Theology at its Osceola County location. FCC has an intimate campus community of 335 undergraduate students and boasts small class sizes of up to 18 students. Many students can choose to live on campus in the college's campus apartments and those interested in distance learning can enroll in FCC's online courses.
