Chapman University, which opened in 1861 on the day that Abraham Lincoln was inaugurated, is one of California's oldest colleges; in 2010 it was recognized as one the country's top universities for 2011 by "U.S. News & World Report." The university's seven schools cover film and media arts, performing arts, business and economics, humanities and social sciences, science, educational studies and business and economics. This university enrolled more than 6,000 students in 2010, and as of 2011 the college is 150 years old. Its location is within easy reach of mountain, beach and desert.
Established in 1913, Fullerton College has more than 22,000 in 2010. The college is set on 83 acres that include 10 major academic buildings as well as laboratories for computer technology, art, science, physical education, automotive services and photography. The college offers a wide academic program and associate degrees in 93 subjects. Students can change courses after their first year if they have second thoughts about their future careers.
The Santa Ana Junior College, as it was then called, first opened its doors in 1915 as a division of the Santa Ana High School. In those days only 26 students attended the college. In 2010, you will find more than 1,000 times that number. The college offers a wide range of more than 300 subjects that lead to an associate degree in arts or science. Many of the subjects offered are related to local industries such as performing arts, video and audio technology and to the film and television industries.
