Good Inexpensive Bible Colleges

Bible colleges are higher educational institutions specializing in biblical studies. The Bible is the basic curriculum for many Bible colleges. These schools are somewhat like theological colleges, but are mostly undergraduate schools. Often people feel called into Christian ministry, but lack the finances to attend a good school. Fortunately, many high quality, affordable Bible colleges in the United States.
  1. Faith Bible College

    • Faith Bible College is an inexpensive Bible school based in Independence, Missouri that has programs ranging from ministry certificates to doctoral degrees. Students can earn credits for ministry experience and transfer credits from other colleges. Correspondence study is also offered, along with several other extension campuses. Tuition for the Spring 2011 semester is $90 per three-credit hour course. It has a one-time application fee of $25 and offers spouse discounts. Registration is $25 per semester.

    International Bible Institute

    • International Bible Institute, founded in 1979, provides a quality education at only a fraction of the price contrasted to many other Bible colleges. Based in Indianapolis, Indiana, International Bible Institute presents courses prepared and recorded by 36 well-known evangelical scholars from schools such as Fuller Theological Seminary, Dallas Theological Seminary, Wheaton College and others. Their "turn-key" system lets churches run a credible Bible college so a pastor isn't overloaded. Nineteen courses in biblical studies are offered.

    Union Bible College

    • Union Bible College in Westfield, Indiana offers bachelor's degrees in fields such as ministry career, ministerial studies, missions, children's ministries and others. The school also has associate degrees. Graduates complete double majors which include one in biblical studies, as well as another one in a chosen field. Union Bible College strives to make its school affordable by running it competently and paying its faculty reasonable salaries without cutting back on quality.

    Huntsville Bible College

    • Huntsville Bible College, a small private, non-profit school, offers opportunities for earning an one-year certificate as well as an associate or bachelor's degree. The school also offers online courses. Located in Huntsville, Alabama, Huntsville Bible College is nondenominational and has a small student-to-teacher ratio of 10-to-1, notes AmericanSchool Search.com. Tuition for the Summer 2009 to Spring 2010 school year was $100 per credit hour.

    Hobe Sound Bible College

    • Hobe Sound Bible College uses the Wesleyan tradition in providing a Bible-based, Christ-centered education. It equips students on how to stand firm against the faith-damaging influences of liberalism, compromise and modern skepticism. The school's "Distributed Education" program enables students to finish a Bible degree wherever they live. Degrees vary from the two-year Associate in Bible degree to the four-year Bachelor of Arts in ministerial studies. Each course was $107 per credit hour from 2008 through 2010.
