Located in Alabama's largest city of Birmingham, Samford University offers undergraduate degrees that include Business, Arts & Sciences, Law, Nursing and, of course, Divinity. Some of the degrees offered in Samford's Beeson Divinity School include Master of Divinity, Master in Theological Studies and Doctor of Ministry. The Master of Divinity Degree is designed for those who desire to become a pastor. The Doctor of Ministry is designed for those who have experience as a pastor and have already attained an undergraduate degree. The theology studies degree helps to establish an understanding and knowledge of the Christian faith, even for people who are not employed within a church environment.
Located in Alabama's capitol city of Montgomery, Falkner University emphasizes Christian studies. Every student enrolled in its college of biblical studies is required to take an established number of bible courses. In addition to its biblical studies program, it offers degrees in Education, English, Criminal Justice and Legal Studies.
Located in the small college town of Marion, Judson is an all-women faith-based college. It partners in shared activities and some classes with the nearby Marion Military Institute. It offers degrees in Mathematics, Pre-Med, Pre-Law and Equine Studies, even allowing students to bring and board their horses at the school. It also offers a degree in Religious Studies with a concentration in Missiology, or mission-related work. Students enrolled in Missiology studies have traveled to Africa to assist with mission work, helped construct homes for needy families and taught underprivileged children to read.
Also located in Birmingham, Southeastern Bible College offers four-year programs in Education, Arts and Sciences and Biblical Studies. It also offers a Bachelor of Arts in Leadership Ministries. To enroll in this program, students must be at least 25 years of age and able to transfer 45 hours from a separate institution. The college also offers Associates of Arts degrees in Biblical Studies and in Leadership Ministries.
