Remington College is a nonprofit providing programs for non-traditional students looking for focused and hands-on training. The school's diplomas prepare students for entry level positions in the career fields of their choice. In 2010, the college had approximately 8,700 students enrolled in its campuses across the U.S., including the Little Rock campus. Programs available at the Little Rock campus include diplomas in medical billing and coding medical assisting and pharmacy technician. They also offer an associate's degree in criminal justice.
Pulaski Technical College is the largest two-year college in the state of Arkansas. It is also the fifth largest public institute for higher education in the state with seven locations, five located in Little Rock. The college reports that as of spring 2010, 11,213 students were enrolled in classes. There are 91 different education programs in the form of certificates, certificates of proficiency, advanced certificates and associated degrees. Ninety-seven percent of graduates become employed or continue their education within six months of completion.
Located on 150 acres, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock campus houses six different colleges of study. These colleges offer more than 100 study programs toward undergraduate and graduate degrees. Areas of study include business, law, engineering, education, science and mathematics, arts and humanities, and professional studies. The Little Rock campus became a part the University of Arkansas System in 1969 and continues to grow as a public university. Classes feature small student and faculty ratios of 14-to-1.
Webster University is a private, nonprofit university that opened in 1986. The Little Rock campus offers 10 different Master of Arts degrees in the areas of business and communications. They do not require a GET or GMAT for admission. Classes are offered during the evening, weekends or online. The programs are accelerated with classes lasting nine weeks. Students are able to complete their graduate studies in as little as 15 months. A small student-to-faculty ratio gives students many opportunities to participate in class. Professors are working professionals with solid academic backgrounds.
