Arizona Western College, located in Yuma, Arizona, offers a wide range of curriculum. AGEC, or Arizona General Education Curriculum certificates are offered in science, arts or business. These certificates are more generalized and cannot be transferred to other colleges. Transfer degrees fall within either science or arts, with particular areas of study within each category. For example, you can get an AA in arts with a focus on media arts. Occupational certificates and degrees are also available in areas such as management and skilled services.
Mohave Community College has a main campus near Lake Havasu and other campuses in Kingman, Bullhead City and Colorado City. This college also offers distance learning for students who may not be able to commute to a campus. Degree and certificate programs are offered in allied health, industrial technology, liberal arts and sciences, business and computer information systems, among others. Occupational skills such as mechanical work, truck driving and residential repair can also be learned at Mohave College.
Though the main campus of Coconino Community College is located in Page, a more central part of Arizona, there is a campus in Williams. Williams is just west of Flagstaff, making it more available to Arizona residents on the west side. Coconino offers degree and certificate programs in three main areas; arts and sciences, career and technical education and corporate and community learning. Arts and sciences include general degrees that can be transferred to other colleges, while the other two programs focus on career skills and business development.
This college offers a variety of general degrees in arts and sciences with some specializations, but you can also pursue a degree in applied science. These degrees offer specialization in several fields, including criminal justice, accounting, nursing, networking, hospitality management, retail management and computer information systems. This college also offers academic and occupational certificates. Academic certificates focus primarily on Chicano studies, culture and storytelling, but you can also pursue a degree in Arizona general education. (see Resources)
