Potomac State College, located in Keyser, is a two-year school connected to West Virginia University. Students also have the option of completing a four-year degree in applied science, business management and criminal justice without having to transfer to a traditional undergraduate college. The school also provides associate's degrees in applied science in early childhood development, nursing, and automotive technology. General associate's degrees in arts or an associate's in science are also available. The school offers online courses and financial aid options.
Mountain State College, located in Parkersburg, offers a student-teacher ratio of 17 to 1. The school was founded in 1888 and boasts more than 50,000 graduates. In addition to traditional financial aid, such as loans and scholarships, Mountain State College offers work-study programs to help students pay for college while pursuing their fields of study. Students who attend the school can major in subjects like medical transcription, legal office technology, and accounting and management, and receive two-year degrees in these majors.
