Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC) was founded in 1985. The college operates three sites, including the Pecos campus in the neighboring community of Chandler. CGCC also operates Williams campus in Mesa and the Sun Lakes Center. Approximately 16,000 students are enrolled annually at the community college.
CGCC has over 50 programs leading towards associate degrees and certificates of completion, as well as university transfer, workforce development and continuing education programs. Courses are offered in a number of fields, including aviation, aeronautics, business, computing studies, communications, fine arts, language, humanities, math, science and social and behavioral sciences. The Williams campus in Mesa is home to the college's aviation, nursing, fire science, law enforcement training and electric utility technology programs.
With over 27,000 students attending the college each year, Mesa Community College (MCC) is one of the largest community colleges in Arizona. The college has two campuses: the Southern and Dobson campus and the Red Mountain campus. The latter focuses on programs for university transfer students. The Downtown Center in Mesa houses the Center for Community Education, Summer Youth College, Mesa Life Options and New Frontiers for Lifelong Learning. The college also offers nursing education in Sun City and a mortuary science program at the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Center.
Mesa Community College confers more than 150 academic and technical associate degrees and certificates. Courses are offered in such subjects as applied sciences and technology, art and photography, business and information systems, communication, counseling, computer science, cultural science, education studies, English, exercise science, film, fire science, justice, life science, math, music, nursing, philosophy, physical science, psychological science, reading, religious studies, social science, theatre arts and world languages. MCC also offers university transfer programs and online education.
