Anderson University is a Christian institution. Its sociology department offers a degree in criminal justice to help prepare students for a career in law enforcement. Located in Muncie, Ball State University offers a criminal justice program to prepare students for careers in law enforcement. The university offers certificate, associate, bachelor's and master's degree programs. Ball State also offers immersed learning through community and internship opportunities. Students learn the dimensions and causes of crime, techniques and theories of law enforcement, and the criminal justice system and its correctional programs. Ball State also offers an employment fair for its recent graduates.
Strayer University's north Indianapolis campus offers a four-year bachelor's as well as a two-year associate of arts degree in criminal justice. Students can pick their own program based on the career goals they have set for themselves. The program offers core courses that are required for every criminal justice degree and degree-specific courses for the different departments. Choices include computer security and forensics and criminal justice administration classes. The university recommends that students contact the law enforcement licensing board in their field to make sure they are meeting that specific board's requirements.
