The Philadelphia-based Drexel University is a private research university founded in 1891. Drexel is well known for its cooperative education program that regularly ranks as one of the best in the United States. Messiah College is a private Christian college with a Philadelphia campus. The college, founded in 1909, has its main campus in Grantham, Pennsylvania. Within Messiah's School of Science, Engineering and Health is a Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. According to Messiah College's official website, students in the department "will learn how to apply science principles, communication techniques and management strategies to improve the nutritional status of individuals and communities." The curriculum is approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) as a didactic program in dietetics.
