One well-known university offering an online degree in education is Drexel University. Located in the city of Philadelphia, Drexel is an established institution of higher education offering online classes and degrees. For students interested in teaching elementary education, Drexel offers a Bachelor of Science degree that prepares students for certification as a teacher for pre-K through fourth grade.
Certification requirements mandated by the state of Pennsylvania are built into this program. Because Pennsylvania's teaching certification requirements are fairly stringent, a degree from Drexel makes certification fairly simple for other states as well, according to the school's website. A non-licensing option is also available as an option within this program.
