Ask your professor or teacher how many points are possible in the course. The teachers construct the syllabus and grading scale weeks before the first day of school. They will have the maximum number of possible points in the course.
Figure out the grade that you want. For example, if you want a B+, you will need an 88 or 89 percent.
Multiply the maximum number of points available in the course by the desired grade. For example, if there are 200 points possible in the course and you want a B+, you will need 88 percent of 200 points, or 176 points.
Review and add up your graded assignments, if the school year is already underway. Calculating your graded assignments can help you figure out how many points you need to get the grade you want.
