Find a GPA calculation sheet, either online or a paper one. The GPA calculation sheet should at least have the number of credits and letter grade. It may have course name, too. A virtual GPA calculation sheet will fill in quality points for you.
Enter your course name under the course name column, if applicable.
Enter your grade from the class next to the class name. If you do not have a grade yet for the class, you can estimate your grade to give you a general idea of what your GPA will be after the semester.
Assign the course grade its appropriate number of points if you are doing the calculation by hand. The points are: A+ 4.33, A 4.00, A- 3.67, B+ 3.33, B 3.00, B- 2.67, C+ 2.33, C 2.00, C- 1.67, D+ 1.33, D 1.00, D- 0.67 and F 0.00.
Enter the number of credit hours the course is worth. The online GPA calculation sheet will then perform all the math involved in calculating your GPA. If using a paper sheet, multiply the points from the class, from Step 4, by the number of credit hours the course is worth to find quality points. Place this number in a quality points column.
Repeat the above steps for everyone of your classes.
Add together all of your quality points from the quality points column and then add together all the credits from the credits columnm, if you are calculating by hand. Then divide the number of total quality points by the total credit hours to calculate your GPA.
