How to Cite a Pennsylvania Statute

When writing a legal brief or a law paper, it is required that you cite a source of information within the text when you refer to it. This allows your audience to quickly identify the facts upon which you are basing your argument. When you cite a Pennsylvania statute, you must include the title number, source and the section number. For your first citation, you should use the long form; for subsequent citations, you may use the short form.
