What are the entry requirements needed for a nursing diploma at Seneca College?

To be eligible for the Nursing diploma program at Seneca College, you must meet the following requirements:

Educational Requirements

- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with the following courses or equivalent:

- English (ENG4U or equivalent)

- Mathematics (MDM4U or MFM4U or equivalent)

- Biology (SBI4U or equivalent)

- Chemistry (SCH4U or equivalent)

Applicants without a high school diploma may be considered for mature student status if they meet the following criteria:

- Be at least 19 years of age by September 1 of the year they are applying.

- Have completed a minimum of eight Ontario high school credits, four of which are at the grade 12 level.

- Demonstrate academic achievement and life/work experience that indicates the ability to succeed in the program.

Language Proficiency Requirements

If English is not your first language, you must demonstrate English proficiency by meeting one of the following requirements:

- A minimum score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Module.

- A minimum score of 550 on the paper-based TOEFL or 80 on the internet-based TOEFL.

- A minimum score of 120 on the Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL).

- A minimum score of 70% on the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic).

- Successful completion of an English language proficiency program approved by Seneca College.
