The American Patriot Freedom Scholarship Award is available to students aged 17 to 21 who are the children of active-duty, retired, disabled or deceased Marines. Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an undergraduate program at an accredited institution to be eligible for the $1,000 award. Awards are granted in part on the basis of an essay each applicant must submit on a topic relating to some aspect of patriotism.

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation provides scholarship awards to the children of active-duty, reserve, veteran, disabled and deceased Marines. To be eligible for the award, students must be enrolled or planning to enroll at an accredited institution, and the gross household income may not exceed $82,000. Qualifying students may receive up to $30,000 over four years. Students whose parent(s) died in the September 11, 2001, attacks or in a U.S. combat zone thereafter are not subject to the income limit.

The Marines' Memorial Club sponsors five scholarship programs for the children and grandchildren of club members. Scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $5,000, and students must be enrolled or planning to enroll at an accredited institution to qualify.
