African American Scholarships for College Students

The College Board website reports that between 2009 and 2010 the average cost for attending a public four-year college was $26,273, and $36,000 for a private four-year institution. Individuals attending college and their families can sometimes offset the rising cost of higher education with scholarships and grants. Some grants exist specifically to aid African Americans with the cost of college.
