APIASF offers scholarships to Asian-American students with high grades to help them pay for university education. Applicants must be American citizens or residents of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia or the Republic of Palau, and be attending college as a first year student in the USA. The scholarship application requires a letter of recommendation and range in value from $2,500 to more than $5,000 as of 2010.
To support the educational ambitions of its community, the Japanese American Citizenship League runs a scholarship program comprised of more than 30 awards with a cumulative value of over $60,000. The scholarships are one-time awards and can be used for undergrad, grad, performing arts and medical education. To apply, students must be active members of the JACL and enrolling in a full-time higher education program.
The Asian Pacific Fund oversees many scholarships, including the Banatao Family Filipino American Education Fund. This award is available to Filipino-American students who are residents of California. Students must be pursuing education in the physical or biological sciences (but not medicine) or engineering. The organization offers five renewable awards of $5,000 annually.
Boston College, located just outside the capital of Massachusetts, offers a scholarship that covers 75 percent of senior-year tuition for "BC juniors whose commitment to academic excellence, to promoting Asian American awareness, and to serving both the Asian American and the wider communities on and off campus, is exceptional." The scholarship offers up to four $1,000 grants to runners-up to purchase materials at the university bookstore.
