Read carefully the requirements for each scholarship. Both the Teaching Fellows and Millennium Teacher Scholarship require applicants to be enrolled in a North Carolina high school, to have a 2.5 grade point average and to have an SAT score of 900 or higher or an ACT score of 19 or better. Those applying for the TEACH Grant must have a grade point average of at least 3.25 and be in the 75th percentile or higher on a college admonition test.
Apply to colleges that accept the scholarship. The Teaching Fellows is accepted in 15 North Carolina colleges. See the Resources section for more information. The Millennium Teacher Scholarship is for students who want to attend Elizabeth City State University, Fayetteville State University, or Winston-Salem State University. To see if the TEACH Grant Program is accepted at the college that interests you, you must contact the financial aid office at the college where you plan to enroll.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It is an application requirement for all three scholarships.
Follow the application procedures for each scholarship you plan to apply for. Each scholarship has a different application process. Carefully check important application dates and be sure to meet all the application deadlines. Links to each scholarship website are in the References section.
