How to Get a Copy of a GED in North Carolina

Colleges, universities and other training schools will ask for a copy of a GED transcript as part of the application process. As is so often the case, you may not have this document readily at hand. If you took and successfully passed your GED exam in North Carolina, you can receive a copy of your transcript free of charge by submitting a request.

      Download and print out a GED transcript request form. A PDF version is available at http://www.nccommunitycolleges.edu/basic_skills/DocumentsLoad/Transcript%20Request%20Form.pdf. If you cannot print out this form, write your request on a separate sheet of paper.

      Include your full name or the name you tested under, social security number, date of birth, test date and location, telephone number and mailing address on the request form or your written request. If you wish to receive your transcript by fax, include a fax number and the name of the person who will receive the fax. Sign your request.

      Mail your request to: NC GED Office, 5016 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC 27699-5016. Alternatively, fax your request to: 919-807-7164 or 919-807-7172.
