Minority Grants for Montana Citizens

According to a study by the Western Rural Development Center in 2008, population growth in Montana for Caucasians was only 10 percent. Minority growth was much more substantial, ranging from 29.5 percent for African-Americans to as high as 83.1 percent for Hispanics. For the number of minorities in the state of Montana, several grant opportunities are available toward education.
  1. Montana Indian Fee Waiver

    • Each year, the Montana Board of Regents approves approximately $1 million in Montana Indian Fee Waivers. Qualifications for the award are divided into three basic areas: residency in Montana, financial need, and documentation of at least one-quarter Indian descent. These fee waivers cover the cost of tuition at any college within the Montana University System. Indian Fee Waiver students need to apply at the Financial Aid Office of the school they plan to attend. General information is available from the Office of Financial Aid at Montana State University at Bozeman.
