Physical Therapy Assistant Grants

Physical Therapists enjoy careers which utilize their professional training in an array of categories like rehabilitation centers, hospitals, sports training facilities and other businesses which focus on physical mobility concerns. Physical Therapists are required to hold Masters or Ph.D degrees. A Physical Therapy Assistant must only have an AA degree from a two-year community college. But college is expensive. Financial assistance is available for PTs and PTAs.
  1. Federal PELL grants

    • Community college courses are available for those hoping to become PTAs. Contact your local two-year college and ask for information regarding grants. A grant makes available full program tuition to the student. Grant applicants have to be freshman and generally come from an underprivileged background. Request the free Federal Student Aid application from a financial aid office at the college. You can also get an aid form from your local public library or online.

For instance, the Special Olympics is heralded as one of the more highly regarded organizations in existence. The Special Olympics offers grants to those actively engaged in studies associated with aspirations that are in step with the interests of the Special Olympics. Grants from private companies

    • Private companies offer financial assistance to those wishing to become credentialed physical therapists and assistants. Many companies supplies students with a healthy stipend. Although some companies opt to provide for physical therapy students in their last year of college, others offer students large grants that take care of their entire tuition. All grants supplied by private companies are need-based. Students have to sign an agreement that specifies their agreeing to work as a faculty member in a company that has been approved by the grant-lending institution.
