Teaching Assistant Grants

      To be considered for a Graduate Teaching Assistant Development Grant, the teaching assistant must develop a project that demonstrates required and specific teaching skills. The project must be an original idea, approved by the department, that helps improve and further undergraduate education; the project must be approved by the department.

    Teacher Assistant Scholarship Fund (TASF)

    • North Carolina college students enrolled in a teaching degree program can apply for the Teacher Assistant Scholarship Fund.

      Teacher assistants in North Carolina can apply for the Teacher Assistant Scholarship Fund. Similar to a grant, scholarships do not have to be repaid. The Teacher Assistant Scholarship Fund is available to students who are residents of North Carolina for tuition classification and pursuing teacher certification at any state university, college or community college.

      Candidates must be full-time teaching assistants for one year in North Carolina, demonstrate financial need, and enroll in the teacher licensure program of North Carolina. Also, potential candidates must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and cannot have defaulted on any student loans.
