Physical Therapy Assistant Degrees

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that the demand for physical therapy assistants will increase by 33 percent from 2008 through 2018, resulting in the creation of 21,200 new jobs in the field. To enter the field, a postsecondary degree is typically required, and a number of private and public colleges offer such programs throughout the United States. Carrying the approval of the American Physical Therapy Association, these schools prepare students for state licensing and voluntary certification through classroom course work and hands-on training.
