To be a marine biologist do you need high school diploma?

While some entry-level positions in marine biology may not require a high school diploma, most employers prefer candidates who have at least a bachelor's degree in marine biology or a related field. For example, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the majority of marine biologists hold a master's degree or higher.

In addition to education, marine biologists must also have strong research, writing, and communication skills. They must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be physically fit enough to work in a variety of environments, including on boats and in the water.

To increase their chances of finding employment, marine biologists may also pursue certification or licensure from professional organizations such as the Marine Biological Laboratory or the American Society of Limnology and Oceanography.
