American Patriot Freedom Scholarships for Dependent Children of the Military

Now that you've decided to go to college, think about how you will pay for it. Look over your options: scholarships, grants, different types of loans, money from parents and relatives, and working a part-time job. If you are a typical American student, you will end up financing your eduction in any number of ways. For one, dependent children of military members have access to the American Patriot Freedom Scholarship.
  1. Homefront America

    • The American Patriot Freedom Scholarship Award for Military Dependent Children, a program of Homefront America, was created in 2006. It is a volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit military outreach organization devoted to assisting our troops and their dependents. Homefront America awards numerous $1,000 scholarships annually.

    Who Qualifies?

    • To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be military dependent children. This includes the children of active duty, retired and disabled or fallen service members. All the service branches are eligible, including the reserves. The dependent should be between ages 17 and 21 and planning to attend an accredited university, college, technical or vocational school.

    Applying

    • Applicants must write a 500-word essay on a patriotic theme, such as "What the Constitution Means to Me" or "What Makes America Great?" to include with their application.
