Make sure you meet the requirements. To obtain GED certification in Florida you must be 18 years old and have a valid Florida ID. You must not be enrolled in an accredited high school and never have graduated or received a diploma.
Study hard. The GED test covers language arts (reading and writing), mathematics, science and social studies. To pass you must earn between 200 and 800 points.
Take pre-tests. Pre-tests are a great way to learn the material or refresh your memory. Some companies that offer pre-tests online include Steve Vaughn and 4Tests.com. Most basic programs are free, but the more involved and time-consuming programs do have fees.
Sign up for a high school program online. These home study programs cover the five subject areas of the GED test and can be done at your leisure.
Find a test location. Look on Florida's Literary Coalition's website for a full listing of GED testing centers.
