Locate books that detail the topics that will be covered in the math and English GED. If you are registered in a class, the teacher will typically teach from a specific book. You can also find GED study books in your local library or bookstore; choose those that include practice tests.

Test yourself using practice tests. Once graded, the practice tests in math and English will show your weak spots and what subtopics you should be studying. Taking the practice tests also helps you to become comfortable with the test length and format.
