The Good Neighbor Citizenship Grants through State Farm provide funding to a number of different organizations through the Good Neighbor Citizenship program in one of the following three categories: Safe Neighbors (safety), Education Excellence (education) or Strong Neighborhoods (community development). The exact amount of each grant varies from year to year, program to program, but the amount is based on the available funds for that award cycle. For schools interested in applying for a grant, they would apply under Education Excellence to propose a program that helps to develop teachers' skills, foster system-wide improvement or encourages service-learning. Interested schools should apply for the grant online and include all of its proposed needs for a 12-month period in their request.

For schools hoping to start or enhance summer tutoring programs, the Learn and Serve America Summer of Service Grant might be an option. Geared toward programs that provide services to middle school students, the grant provides disadvantaged middle school students with the opportunity to engage in service learning activities during the summer months. About $1 million is set aside for between five and seven grants, but the exact amount of money available is dependent upon appropriations from the organization. Therefore, the amount of each grant can vary from year to year. Students who participate in the program should complete at least 100 hours of work during the summer, and the goal of the program is aimed toward addressing environmental and disaster preparedness issues for that particular community.
