Forest Trail Academy has a full K-12 programs with additional after-school classes and special core classes in subjects students need to work on. Primary and secondary school require parents' involvement in the learning process. Forest Trail Academy's curriculum aligns with national and California standards. Graduating high school students receive a nationally-accredited high school diploma.
Licensed teachers specialize in subject areas and some teachers have doctorates. Students need only an Internet connection to participate in classes, and can travel or live outside the United States.
Tuition is based on full-time or part-time enrollment, or if the student is simply taking online courses. As of June 2010, tuition is $350 to $2,200 a year depending on the grade level and course work. Tuition covers books, tests and reference materials and shipping costs within the United States.
Insight Schools offer an extensive curriculum of 20 courses that include core courses and electives. Honors and advanced placement courses and vocational and skill-building courses are available. State-certified teachers and advisers orient both students and parents.
Tuition is free and Insight partners with public high schools in many states. Insights Schools are not available in every state. In those states where they're not available, Insight partners with online private schools in those states.
Internet Home School's offers live, certified teachers Monday through Friday, online grade books to track a student's grades and credits that students can transfer to any school in the nation. Internet Home School uses traditional textbooks and newer multi-media learning methods.
As of June 2010, tuition is $250 to $350 a month depending on grade level and the number of courses taken. Parents who pay for the school year in advance can get a discount on tuition. Tuition includes books, tests and materials.
