Students enrolled in the distance learning program through Athabasca University may enroll in individual classes or pursue bachelor's, master's, post master's and doctorate degree and certificate programs. Students can pursue a bachelor's degree in arts, commerce, general studies, health administration, human resources and labor relations, management, nursing, professional arts or science.
The school offers a certificate program in English language proficiency and 18 undergraduate certificate programs. The 18 graduate programs include topics in arts, business, counseling, distance education, health and information systems. The university welcomes international applicants with the same admission requirements as Canadian students.

The International Career School offers 50 accredited training courses resulting in a career diploma that students may complete in one to two years. Students may pursue one of 17 certificate programs in topics such as accounting, Adobe Photoshop, anatomy and physiology, animal care, AutoCAD, fitness and nutrition, photography, public relations, Spanish and sports nutrition.
Students who have not graduated from high school may pursue an online self-paced diploma program for completion in eight months to two years. Students in the program have access to faculty support weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Graduates receive ongoing job location assistance and have access to the school's online job classified listings. The International Career School accepts students worldwide.

Thompson Rivers University accepts students from around the globe in the school's open learning courses online. Students can apply credits from previous college attendance or work experience through the school's Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition program.
