How to Create a Preschool Website

Creating a website for your preschool offers numerous benefits to the community, including convenient, quick and around-the-clock distribution of information about the preschool, details about the preschool for prospective students and their families, educational resources and links, and contact information for those who may have questions. A preschool website also provides a forum for sharing ideas and support for caregivers, teachers and other interested individuals.

Instructions

    • 1

Plan by sketching possible website designs on paper or jotting down an outline for the text you wish to include on the website. Creating a website is quicker and smoother if you have a clear overall idea of the elements you wish to include.

    • 2

Purchase a domain name for your preschool website. Often educational institutions display the domain extension ".edu," but ".org" is also an option. If your preschool is part of a larger body (such as a church), you may be able to create a webpage that's part of an existing website. Ensure that your desired domain name has not already been taken.

    • 3

Log into your domain's control panel to create your preschool website. Your Internet Service Provider will give you detailed instructions for accessing your control panel and creating pages. A knowledge of HTML isn't always necessary.

    • 4

Type in the following information on your preschool's website: contacts (staff names, phone numbers, e-mail addresses), tuition details, an "About Us" page, enrollment procedure, a printable application for enrollment, required school supplies, a calendar of events and preschool bylaws. You may also choose to include a photo of the preschool and/or a preschool logo.

Save your preschool website pages after editing so they will be published and viewable on the Internet.
