Add creating awe to your daily to-do list. If you yearn to add more wonder to your days, you have to be practical and not leave it to chance. Between clearing up the dinner dishes and getting the kids to bed, take a few moments to step outside and revel in the cool evening air. Watch as the last rays of the sun touch the horizon and be filled with awe at its splendor. Take as many moments as you can each day to be awe-inspired by not only the strange and unique, but the familiar as well.
Open your journal and be prepared to set aside all your fixed ideas about what can and cannot be. To create awe, you have to be open to possibilities. Being taken off guard by something awe-inspiring is sensational, but training yourself to actively seek out the wondrous will improve the quality of your life. Whether it's a place or a person or even a powerful desire to add more beauty to your surroundings, write down what inspires or moves you.
Choose one of the things you've written in your journal that you believe will create awe. The first step to making a desire a reality is to employ a technique called creative visualization. Close your eyes and imagine the scene. If it's a place that inspires awe, picture yourself surrounded by the buildings, people; scents and atmosphere. Immerse yourself in the landscape, adding details and color to the experience. The more vividly you imagine your awe-inspiring scene, the better.
Take action. Creative visualization is meant to be used as a tool with which to manifest anything you can imagine. If you don't act on your imaginings, they will remain nothing but daydreams, and the awe you want to create will never be actualized. Make it a priority to take the first step towards your goal. Create a time line to achieve your first step and stick to it. Take the approach that while awe may strike you out of the blue, anywhere and at anytime, there's a better chance to be touched by awe if you are actively seeking it.
