Preschool Thank You Card Crafts

Preschoolers show gratitude by creating thank-you cards. Make the cards with little ones after preschool field trips or when a guest has volunteered in the school. Each child can make his own card for a classroom helper, or the whole group can make one to present to people your class visited on a field trip. Children will learn the life skill of composing thank-you cards to express appreciation for the gifts and time that others share with them.
  1. Individual Cards

    • Fold 9 by 12-inch sheets of construction paper in half to form a card. Cut each card into a shape, specific to the recipient. If the class visited a fire station, cut red cards into simple truck shapes. For a "classroom helper" card craft, choose a heart or butterfly shape, cut from pastel-colored paper. Pass the cards to your preschoolers. Ask the children to color a picture to express thanks. Write each child's first name and the date on his card. Print the words "Thank You" on the front of each card. To further personalize the cards, glue a picture of each child on her card.

    Group Cards

    • Fold a poster-size sheet of card stock in half to create a thank-you card from the whole class. Let each child dip an open palm into paint and stamp it onto the inside of the card. Write each child's first name beneath his handprint. When the handprints are dry, glue a picture of the class to the front of the card. Write or paint the words "Thanks For Giving Us A Hand" above the picture. Write the name of the teacher and the school, along with the date, below the class picture.
