Ask the students to sit in a circle on the floor. Show them the ball of yarn you have and tell them that together they will make a spider web.
Explain to the class that you will start the spider web by saying something that you admire or like about one of the students, and then you will toss or roll the ball of yarn to that student. When that student gets the yarn, she must say something she likes about another student before rolling the ball of yarn. Say something you admire about one of the students and begin the spider web. Make sure that each student has a turn with the yarn.
Have the children look at the web they made after all the students have had a turn at catching and passing the yarn. Ask them what they notice about it. Point out how each of them is connected to the spider web, just like each of them is part of the classroom.
