How to Make Bubbles With Preschoolers

Most preschool aged children absolutely love playing with bubbles. You can make bubbles even more fun for this age group by involving them in the preparation of the bubbles as well. Your preschoolers will love this hands-on activity that allows them to "cook" up a batch of bubbles. This activity also exposes preschool children to various units of measurement, such as a gallon, an ounce and a tablespoon.

Instructions

    • 1

Pour the water into a bucket. Have a preschooler assist you with this.

    • 2

Ask one of the children to stir the water gently with a spoon as you add the rest of the ingredients.

    • 3

Measure out the dish soap and glycerin and pour both ingredients into the bucket.

    • 4

Allow the mixture to set for six to eight hours before blowing bubbles for optimal results.

    • 5

Demonstrate a variety of bubble blowing techniques for your preschool students. Show them how to hold the bubble wand, dip it into the solution and blow bubbles either with your mouth or by waving the wand through the air. Play games involving bubbles, such as having a contest to see who can blow the smallest or the largest bubble.
