Make a graduation invitation template that your kindergarten students can fill in. Include a space for information such as the names of people they want to invite, like parents and grandparents, the location, time and date. Allow students to add their own special touch to the invitation with crayons. Send the invitations home with the children to give to their parents or grandparents.
Create a sign-up sheet for parents to volunteer to bring refreshments and supplies for after the ceremony. Or, make a list of things you need to buy if you are planning to provide the refreshments.
Create diplomas on fancy paper or make copies of diploma template that you can fill in with each kindergarten graduate's name. Make short programs, detailing the order of events, on half-sheets of colored paper to hand out to guests at the graduation.
Plan a short ceremony that includes a song sung by the children and a presentation of the diplomas. Ask a principal or other administrator to present the diplomas as a special touch.
Rehearse the ceremony with the children at least once. They need to know where to sit or stand and where to walk to receive their diploma. Practice is particularly important for the song.
Make sure there is plenty of seating for attendees on the day of the graduation.
