How to Create Your Own Alphabet Letter Tracing

Once children enter school, the importance of reading, writing and arithmetic is instilled in them. To prepare a child for the tasks of learning to write the alphabet, letter tracing activities can easily be made at home. Homemade workbooks and activity pages can also be keepsakes for parents or grandparents.

Instructions

    • 1

Decide how many pages of alphabet letter tracing will be in the workbook. Using half of the number of pages desired, fold the letter-sized paper in half horizontally and crease. Staple along the crease four to five times.

    • 2

Using the ruler, trace straight lines approximately 1 inch apart on the pages using the marker. On each line, mark dashed lines to outline the shapes of upper and lower case letters. Whole pages can be designated to only one letter or multiple letters.

    • 3

Using the colored pencils, let the child go over the alphabet tracings.
