How to Decorate a Classroom for Teddy Bear Day

Every Sept. 9th is Teddy Bear Day. On this day, you can do many different activities with your students, such as talking about the importance of bears, teaching about where bears live and what bears eat. You can lead your children in artistic exercises about teddy bears. You might even ask your students to bring their favorite teddy bear, or other stuffed animal, to class. Be creative.

Instructions

    • 1

Place teddy bears that you bring from home in chairs throughout the room. For example, place a teddy bear in a chair at every workstation or set them up in a group in a reading corner.

    • 2

Place a coloring page depicting different teddy bears on each student's desk. Include a basket or box of crayons for the students to share.

    • 3

Hang photos and artistic posters of teddy bears across the classroom.

    • 4

Invite a friend to visit the classroom dressed up as a teddy bear -- or a teddy bear family. After reading a teddy bear-related story, the family of teddy bears can visit with students and serve them hot chocolate and honeybuns.
