Vanguard Preparatory School is located in Dallas, Texas. Since its opening in 1993, Vanguard has served children with special social, emotional and learning needs by providing a therapeutic program and focused instruction for each individual child. River Oaks Academy is located in Houston, Texas. Established in 1988, River Oaks Academy specializes in helping children in grades K through 12 with social, emotional and developmental needs, including Asperger Syndrome. River Oaks is known for its teaching strategies and techniques specially designed to encourage students with learning problems related to attention, impulse control, emotional control and noncompliance. Great Lakes Academy is located in Plano, Texas. Great Lakes is a nonprofit private school that serves children in grades 1 through 12 who have various learning needs related to Asperger Syndrome, ADD or ADHD. Many students at Great Lakes have demonstrated an average or above-average intelligence level but need special care and attention in order to maximize their potential. Newfound School is located in Carrollton, Texas. It is a small private school for children in grades K through 12 who have learning and/or behavioral challenges, such as autism, Asperger syndrome, PDD, bipoloar disorder, ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, Fragile X, special medical needs or other learning disabilities. Newfound provides a caring and nurturing environment that helps students to develop their talents and abilities through "hands-on" learning in a bully-free atmosphere.
