Florida Seventh Day Adventist Schools

Seventh-day Adventist schools range from preschool through secondary colleges with all levels available somewhere in Florida. Regardless of the age range that the school serves, all Seventh-day Adventist schools are considered private, religious institutions that focus on a Christian, faith-based education. Students seeking Seventh-day Adventist schooling can learn about the Christian faith or grow in their existing Christian beliefs while meeting other students and educators that share similar religious ideals. Students are not required to be of the Christian or Adventist faith to attend an Adventist school. Private Christian schools can provide an academic experience that offers small class sizes, conservative values and one-on-one student assistance.
  1. Preschools

    • No Seventh-day Adventist schools for toddlers and preschoolers are listed in Northern Florida.

Although many of the Seventh-day Adventist elementary schools and academies offer preschool programs, there are more than 10 early childhood or day care centers available for children younger than kindergarten. In central Florida, Orlando has the Orlando Junior Academy Early Childhood Center and Children's Academy at Loch Haven. Further south you'll find Early Childhood Education and Care in Miami and both Maranatha Child Development Center and the Norland Early Childhood Program in Miami Gardens, Florida. On the gulf side of Florida, New Port Richey has the Kid's Safari Christian Preschool.

    Junior Academies/Elementaries

    • Seventh-day Adventists' junior academies educate students in 1st through 10th grade and there are six of them in Florida. Seventh-day Adventists' elementary schools are more prevalent, with more than 20 in Florida, educating students in 1st through 8th grades. The northern part of the state has the Jacksonville Adventist Academy. Orlando has the Orlando Junior Academy and the Beryl Wisdom Adventist School. Further south you'll find the Greater Miami Adventist Academy in Miami, Florida.

    High Schools

    • High school students attending college after graduation will have different academic needs than those who aren't.

There are two main Seventh-day Adventist high school offerings listed for Florida serving 9th and 10th grades only. Apopka, Florida has the Forest Lake Academy, which also features a "distance learning" academy that serves students not living in Apopka. In addition, Miami is the home of the Greater Miami Adventist Academy. Visit the website or contact the school directly for details on their course offerings and how their facility can meet the specific academic needs of your potential student.

    Colleges and Universities

    • In additional to the typical academic functions of a university, FHCHS provides spiritual and emotional support for students.

Although there are more than 10 Seventh-day Adventist colleges or universities in the U.S., there is only one such institute of higher education listed in the state of Florida. The Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences (FHCHS) is located in Orlando in the south-central part of the state. The school was established in 1992 and is recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the country's "Best Hospitals."
