Ten SDA institutions of higher education are available in the South and East coast regions of the United States. In keeping with the Seventh Day Adventist emphasis on education in medicine, Kettering College of Medical Arts is both a classroom and clinical learning environment. Kettering has been treating patients since 1964 and educating students since 1967. The college offers certificates, associate's degrees, bachelor's degrees and specialties such as nursing.

While most SDA schools are located on the eastern side of the country, four SDA institutions of higher education are located on the West Coast. Other West Coast Seventh Day Adventist schools to consider are the following: Walla Walla University, Pacific Union College and Loma Linda University.
Only one Seventh Day Adventist institution of higher education is located in Canada. Canadian University College offers over twenty degrees. Many of these degrees are geared for outdoor enthusiasts, like Adventure Based Counseling. CUC also has music, medical and dental programs.
