Most Muslims are Sunni, so educational options for Shi'a Muslims can be limited. There is no full-time Shi'a Islamic school in or near Orlando, but the Islamic Education Center of Florida offers classes to the children of Orlando's Shi'a community, ages 4 to 18, through its Islamic Learning Center. The school operates on Sundays, on a semester schedule, and offers Qur'an memorization and Islamic law, doctrine, and history classes. The Islamic Education Center of Orlando is the first multicultural Shia Islamic center in Orlando, and all services and classes are conducted in English.
