How to Decorate a Bulletin Board With an Asian Culture Theme

The continent of Asia is home to a diverse array of culturally-rich countries. If the countries that fill this continent enter into your academic lesson plans, consider creating a bulletin board for illustration. In doing so, you can likely capture the attention of your students and make them more eager to learn about Asia and all of the individuals who call the continent home.

Instructions

    • 1

Include a cut-out of the continent of Asia. Use a die-cut machine to create your cut-out or, for a larger cut-out, copy an outline of the continent onto an overhead transparency. Project this image onto a piece of colorful paper and trace around the continent. Clip it out and place it in the center of your bulletin board.

    • 2

Place flags of Asia around the perimeter of the board. Purchase petite fabric flags for countries that fill Asia, or print copies of these flags onto paper. The colorful representatives of China, Mongolia, Turkey and others will create a border for your bulletin board.

    • 3

Feature different Asian countries. Create informational sheets for some of the most dominant Asian countries. On each sheet, include the name of the country, an image of where it rests on the continent of Asia, and some other fun-facts like the population and primary language(s).

    • 4

Include some common phrases in Asian languages. Print out the word "hello," for example, in some of the languages spoken on the continent of Asia, including Japanese, Mongolian and Turkish.

    • 5

Add pictures of individuals from Asian countries. Gather pictures of individuals partaking in important cultural ceremonies such as Chinese New Year or a Turkish wedding. Place these pictures around your board, putting a caption under each so students can read what each image is illustrating.
