Think about what kind of theme you want your hidden word game to have. If you are creating this project for a classroom setting, use a unit of a textbook as the basis of the game.
Choose a set of words that best help students improve. If you are studying insects, for example, choose the insect names that are the hardest to remember or the hardest to spell.
Decide how the words will be displayed throughout the puzzle. Some puzzles have words going only vertically and horizontally. Others have them displayed diagonally as well. Also consider whether you want the words to be displayed backward as well as forward.
Create a grid using a pen and paper or download a grid from the Internet. Write in the soon-to-be-hidden words wherever you like.
Fill in the remaining squares using random letters. Or, if you want to make the game more challenging, include strings of letter that almost spell some of the hidden words. This will throw the students off and force them to double-check spellings.
Copy enough of the games for each participant, along with extras in case someone loses his sheet or wants to start over.
Visit a website that offers a hidden word game creator program. Type the words you want hidden into the text box.
Click "create page" or whichever button causes the program to create the hidden word game.
Print as many copies as you need.
