Determine your science learning targets. Select from a variety of flipchart lessons from Prometheanplanet.com that suits your science class -- such as the formation of the solar system, survival acts of animals or body parts of insects.
Jot down your ideas for a science lesson with a pencil and paper to modify the flipchart lesson.
Gather digital information and resources for your lesson, through Internet searches. Locate and bookmark copyright-free images related to your science lesson from Clker.com, OpenClipArt.com or similar free site. Bookmark links for your lessons.
Open the Promethean software. Create a new flipchart by selecting "Menu" on the floating toolbar. Select "New Flipchart" and set the monitor's resolution to either "1024 x 768" for use with a laptop or "800 x 600" for a desktop.
Select "Label Text" to create labels for your science lesson as headings or clues for discovery. Copy and paste your links for your previously selected content. Move related items in close proximity to form a group.
Create order by visually connecting every item on the page. Repeat aspects of your design to create consistency. Contrast items that don't relate to each other by using different fonts, rows or columns, or other variations.
Click on "Marquee Select" to resize or move your science images. Use the cut, copy, delete or duplicate function as needed.
Click on "Object Browser" to see the layers you created. In the Objects Browser, click on an item to be sure that you haven't hidden any items behind it.
Click on "Notes Browser" and add notes to each page.
Select "Rich Text" to change fonts, change a word to bold or italics, or for any other text change. Use the spell-check feature to check your lesson. Edit your content, design and functionality as needed.
Include puzzles and a quiz to test the students' understanding of the lesson -- using the interactive feature, if available. Lock components with interactive components so that they remain in place.
Test your document. Make sure your science lesson runs the way you want it to. Print the flip chart by clicking "Menu," "Flipchart," "Print" and "OK."
Save your science lesson by clicking "Menu," "Flipchart" and "Save."
