Lay a sheet of copy paper vertically next to a ruler. Align the bottom edge of the paper with the ruler. Lay a second sheet of paper on top of the first, and slide it up one inch from the bottom. Lay a third sheet of paper on top of the second, and slide it up one inch from the bottom of the second sheet. Lay a fourth sheet on top of the third sheet, and slide it up one inch from the bottom of the third sheet.
Secure the pages together with paperclips on both sides just above the last tab. Grasp the stack of papers in both hands and fold the top half of the entire stack toward you. Align the bottom sheet of the folded over stack one inch above the last tab. You will now see eight tabs. Straighten the edges and crease the top fold being careful not to shift the papers out of alignment. Put three staples across the top of the flipbook an inch below the folded edge.
Remove the paper clips. Label the tabs from the bottom up as follows: More, How, Why, Where, When, What and Who. Do not label the top page. Turn the book horizontally.
Locate a mummy or sarcophagus clip-art image and enlarge it to a height of eight inches. Color the image and cut it out. Glue the image to the top page of your flip book as close to the right edge as possible. After the glue dries, cut around the right edge of the shape so that your title page is the same shape as the clip-art image. Write your name and class on this top page where it can be seen.
Research mummies and write facts that you learn in the appropriate section of the flip book. For example, the statement, "Mummies were buried in pyramids in Egypt," would be written in the Where section of the flip book. Each section of the flip book should have at least five facts. The More section is for writing extra information such as reference materials you used, URLs for online activities and questions you may still have unanswered about mummies.
Add pictures and embellishments to the pages in each section. Some examples may include hieroglyphic borders, drawings of embalming jars or clipart images of geographic landmarks.
