Home School Math Programs

With a homeschool math program, your child can learn all the math that parochial school children must know and more. More than that though, homeschool math programs let children learn on their own, at their own pace. Children in homeschool math programs often score higher on standardized tests, complete high school earlier and do better in college than their parochial counterparts, according to the Home School Legal Defense Association. One of the reasons is that home math programs make use of the best math learning software available, something that is often lacking in public schools.
  1. Singapore Math

    • Singapore Math bases its kindergarten through 12th grade math program on the Singapore Model Method. This method is based on the extensive use of graphics with math word problems to convey mathematical concepts. Because of this approach, the student is able to more readily understand and apply mathematical concepts to other fields such as art, music, science, engineering and education.

    Bridgeway Homeschool Academy

    • Bridgeway homeschool programs have received national accreditation through the National Association of Private Schools, and the school is registered to issue accredited high school diplomas through the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

The school offers programs for every grade from pre-kindergarten to 12th grades. Of those that have participated in the schools' programs, more than 82 percent have gone onto college, which, is above the national average. According to the Institute of Education Sciences, the statistical arm of the United States Department of Education, "since 2002 [the immediate college enrollment rate] has fluctuated between 62 and 69 percent," as of 2008-2009.

The school also offers a program where high school students can start earning college credits when in high school. Another benefit for parents that go through Bridgeway's math homeschooling programs is that it takes care of the record keeping. As the parent of a home schooled child, you are responsible to keep records of your child's test scores and report cards. Bridgeway takes care of all that for you so that you can have the time to keep your child focused on academics.
