BC Correspondence Schools

Correspondence studies in British Columbia date back to 1919 when the Department of Education in the province opened the Provincial Correspondence School to address the lack of education available in rural areas. The province has nine public distance-education schools as of June, 2010, serving students in grades kindergarten through 12. Open School, a division of the Ministry of Labour and Citizens' Services, offers student and educator resources in print and online for correspondence studies.
